A Drug Product Development Manager / Director is required for a leading biochemistry company based in the North-East of the UK.

Within this position you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a team of 5
  • Acting as single point of contact for Research and Development
  • Supporting all manufacturing sites with relation to difficult problems
  • Mentoring site based technical staff
  • Leading cross-functional teams
  • Driving technical innovation for second generation processes
  • Being the downstream process expert

Ideally, you will be educated to PhD level (Chemical / Biochemical Engineering or similar) and have: 

  • 10 -15+ years industry experience
  • Experience in Manufacturing and Process Development
  • Drug Product Development
  • Protein Formulation
  • Stability Experience
  • Knowledge of Fill Finish
  • Knowledge in fluid mechanics, especially viscosity and flow of high concentration protein solutions
  • Expertise in protein aggregation and particulate formulation
  • Thermodynamics and biochemistry background beneficial
